Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) are collaborative initiatives that bring together education and training providers, industry representatives, public authorities, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality vocational education and training (VET). In H2VE, CoVEs act as regional innovation engines, aligning educational offerings with the evolving demands of the hydrogen sector and fostering strong links between training and employment.

CoVEs are more than just training providers — they are regional hubs of innovation and collaboration. What sets them apart from conventional VET alliances is their integrated approach that connects education, industry, research and public policy to address real-world skills needs and drive economic transformation.
Multi-stakeholder partnerships: CoVEs bring together vocational education providers, companies, public authorities and research institutions to co-design and co-deliver training programs that are directly aligned with local and sectoral needs.
Regional focus with European reach: While deeply rooted in regional ecosystems, CoVEs are part of a European network that enables cross-border collaboration, knowledge transfer and the scaling of best practices across the EU.
Demand-driven and future-oriented: CoVEs continuously adapt to emerging technologies and labor market trends ensuring that learners acquire future-proof skills.
Sustainability and impact: They are designed with long-term sustainability in mind, embedding quality assurance, innovation strategies and employability programs that endure beyond the project lifecycle.
Innovation ecosystems: Each CoVE acts as a catalyst for regional development by linking education with innovation and entrepreneurship, helping regions become competitive in strategic sectors.
